Status Report #33 - The heatwave of doom
Hi folks! Michael here, and i've gotta very quickly write this Status Report in the early morning hours before the sun really comes up and turns the world into an oven!
Our two weeks off work are coming to an end. The first week was pretty good and nice and stuff. In the second week, we were pretty much forced to take some time off even from our hobbies, because a horrible heatwave struck and made it so that halfway through the day, the heat just disables your brain.
So, let's see how that's affected us!
-Blogging-
Well, you might have seen our post on Hitman's Patient Zero campaign. Happened a little sooner than expected, but well, the campaign wasn't very long! Still, we had a pretty decent time with it.
Also, you might have noticed Snowrunner videos popping up on our Youtube channel. Well, good news there, because that project made huge strides during the first of our two weeks off work. We've got a silly amount of videos prepared, and the blog post is ready as well. Gotta hold it back a bit to time things properly, but look forward to next weekend.😉
Then, one of the few things we managed -this- week was to play, and write about another childhood favourite game of mine!
You'll see that popping up during the coming week!
Other than that, we just started on Hitman 2 and we're planning to write about a new indie game we're playing. So stuff's in the works, and progress should be made once things (literally) cool down a bit, again.
-Art-
Well, we said it would happen at some point: We skipped this week's Sketchbook Saturday, simply because the heat zapped us of all energy this past week and made it impossible to do anything productive and/or creative.
We -did- at least make up for it a bit by posting some nice photos of our recent hike!
.... though of course, you've probably already seen these on our Cara, Pinterest or Instagram! (Plug, plug, plug.😜)
-DCS-
So, almost immediately after writing the last Status Report, we did some DCS. Some pretty intense F/A-18 practice. Carrier ops, aerial refuelling and playing around with harpoon missiles.
It was all very cool. Tom Clancy would have loved it.😉
So yeah, one good session of DCS, and that was it for these 2 weeks. Shame, that.
-Life stuff-
Worse than that though is the fact that halfway through our time off, we got word of -another- death in the family. Don't wanna go into it too much, but yeah, two deaths, less than a year apart. Not a very good time for us, in this regard. It also means things are gonna get.... complicated, in the next few months. In fact, we might well move apartment, sometime this year. But we'll keep you posted on that.
Anyway, until our next post, stay safe, especially from sun's deadly gaze, and have a good one!😉
