Status Report #33 - The heatwave of doom

Image
Hi folks! Michael here, and i've gotta very quickly write this Status Report in the early morning hours before the sun really comes up and turns the world into an oven! Our two weeks off work are coming to an end. The first week was pretty good and nice and stuff. In the second week, we were pretty much forced to take some time off even from our hobbies, because a horrible heatwave struck and made it so that halfway through the day, the heat just disables your brain. So, let's see how that's affected us! -Blogging- Well, you might have seen our post on Hitman's Patient Zero campaign . Happened a little sooner than expected, but well, the campaign wasn't very long! Still, we had a pretty decent time with it. Also, you might have noticed Snowrunner videos popping up on our Youtube channel. Well, good news there, because that project made huge strides during the first of our two weeks off work. We've got a silly amount of videos prepared, and the blog post is read...

Hitman WOA - Patient Zero

Image
Hey there, people! Michael here, and welcome to our next look at the Hitman WOA trilogy. This time, we'll be looking at.... So, just for context: Patient Zero is a small 4-mission campaign that originally came out as DLC for Hitman (2016). It then became part of the game of the year edition, which in turn became part of Hitman 3, which in turn got rebranded as Hitman WOA. Bottom line, it's a free extra campaign thrown in with the package. We'd never actually touched this before, so for the first time in this series, you're getting our proper first impressions! (.... which is generally true going forward, since we also never played Hitman 2 beyond the intro mission) Interestingly, this campaign doesn't have mission stories as a feature. Or rather, the technical mechanic of mission stories isn't present, though there are definitely certain steps you can follow in order to create opportunities. So it's like mission stories - are - there, it's just that the...

Sketchbook Saturday #4

Image
Hello there, fellow Wombatants! Amalia here, and welcome to another Sketchbook Saturday! I'll be honest with ya: We kinda struggled, this week. Every time we sat down to draw something, it ended up looking..... less than ideal. And this brought us to a bit of a realization: We suck at drawing!😜 But that's fine, because we got into it to learn and improve, and so we are. However, this week's struggle suggested to us that we're perhaps trying to be a bit too advanced, too early on. So we've decided to do something easy, but still decently good for practice. A couple of tracings: So up above, it's a fairly basic front-facing image of myself, while down below it's a Land Rover (or well, just the chassis, so far). The idea is that we'll spend some more time tracing, and then working out how to refine individual parts. You can see we already did some fancification with my nose and mouth, for instance. The goal is to eventually turn both of these into fully ...

Hitman WOA - Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido

Image
Howdy folks, and welcome back to Hitman WOA! So, after our big mega-post , we're now gonna be playing through the entire game in stages, getting ~2-4 destinations done at a time. Today in fact, we're looking at the rest of Hitman 1. Or part 1. Or just "Hitman". Or Hitman 2016. Er, yeah, that. So, let's not dawdle around and start right off with.... -Bangkok- So! Agent 47 travels to Bangkok, to the Himmapan Hotel, where he is tasked with taking out two targets: Jordan Cross, the frontman of a famous band who drunkenly murdered his girlfriend some time ago, and Ken Morgan, an utterly unscrupulous lawyer/fixer who got Mr. Cross off the hook in that whole murder affair. So, the hotel feels much more compact than previous levels. Feels like everything is just a short few steps away at all times, and with it being largely indoors, it generally feels very close-in and intimate. That said, it - is - very beautiful to look at! There's some real opulence here, but it do...
