Changing Burrows #2

Hi there, folks! Amalia here, welcoming you back to our second post logging our adventures of moving back into Michael´s childhood home! So, a bit of a theme has established itself by now: We - never - have enough time for everything, and have to simply chip away at things one bit at a time. Sometimes that means solving practical problems in the house, other times it's entirely bureaucratic stuff, like sorting out insurances, banking stuff and whatnot. Honestly, a lot of the time the latter feels like it's just getting in the way of the former. We actually like solving the practical problems. Feels like we're really doing stuff and preparing our new home! But then we need to take an evening to just make phone calls and write emails. Bah, i say! But then, sometimes, we take a moment to look around. Go for a walk and really take in where we're going to be living. .... and then, it instantly becomes worth it. We didn't exactly live in a big city these past few years, b...

Status Report #34 - Too. Much. To. Do.

Hi there, Folks! Michael here. Welcome to a Status Report where we have...... not much to report. >_> As you might have read last week, we've inherited a house  and are preparing to move in, and while we wouldn't dream of complaining about such a thing, it - does - mean that our normal life is pretty much on pause, for the moment. So, i suppose i'll give you a small update on how things have developed since that post. [Took this around the area we're moving into. The abandoned oil drum in the centre of the image, with the light shining on it really struck us as a brilliant image.] Well, we spent most of the week in our new house. We did some cleanup-work, but mostly the week was about buerocratic stuff. Lot of phone calls with banks, electricians, town hall, plumbers and what have you. So we haven't really got enough interesting stuff together for another "Changing Burrows"-post. That - should - change this coming week, because we wanna dedicate som...

Important update and Changing Burrows #1!

Hi folks! Amalia here. You may have noticed us miss another Sketchbook Saturday, yesterday. Well, we've got a good excuse! You might recall that during our last Status Report, we mentioned that there was another death in the family. Well, out of respect for everyone involved, we don't wanna get into too much detail, but suffice it to say that Michael and i are in a position now where we inherited half a house and plan to move in, and are going to buy up the other half as well, for the purposes of either selling on as a condo or renting out as an apartment. (I mean, we'd have to. We can't just - buy - half a house out of pocket. Gotta have a solid plan to finance the whole thing.) However, like most life-changing decisions, this comes with certain complications! See, the house in question is Michael's childhood home, and until last autumn, it was occupied by his father and stepmother. Then, after Michael's father passed away, his stepmother remained and continue...

Howdy folksies! Amalia here, and welcome to our latest project for this blog! So, why are we doing a series on this? Well, it's quite a similar case to Hitman series. We love this game quite a bit, but it's absolutely - massive -, so we need a good excuse to invest the time to play it all. ....... which is what we're giving ourselves by turning it into a project to cover on this here blog.😉 Though the format is gonna be a bit different to that of Hitman. We'll take the time to tell you a bit about the game today, but it's not gonna be a gigantic mega-post like the first post in the Hitman series. We'll explain more as we go, this time around. We're also going to be changing our approach when it comes to YouTube uploads. With Hitman, we're releasing destination-related videos simultaneously with blog entries, and while that works, we won't do Snowrunner map by map, meaning that we'll just blog about it when enough interesting stuff has happened. ...
